Only assistance or service dogs are allowed to walk at Ashburnham Place. The Ashburnham Place grounds are designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI).

Day visitors are welcome to walk around Broad Water lake after enjoying your refreshments from the Orangery Tea Room. All the other lake walks and the entire 220 acres are available to our residential guests.

Ashburnham Place is the home of Ashburnham Christian Trust charity.  We are an onsite international community of about 90 people, made up of paid team and their families as well as young trainees who join us for up to 1 year.  We host retreats, conferences and training courses throughout the year. We steward the 220 acres of land and lakes with a view to increasing its bio-diversity and ensuring it is a place of peace and sanctuary.

Swimming is available to our residential guests only during the swimming season. From around late April – October

Ashburnham Place is owned and run by the Ashburnham Christian Trust which is a registered charity.  We have no significant funds other than what we bring in through our conferencing services and the generous donations of supporters.  The current General Directors are Paul Wenham and Andy Proudfoot who report to a board of trustees.

Ashburnham Place has evolved, been added to, redeveloped and repaired many times over the centuries but the roots of the current main building go back to sometime in the 15th century.

Parking is currently free for our residential guests and day visitors to the Orangery Tea Room. During special on-site events a small parking fee may be requested.

Ashburnham Place is situated in a picturesque rural valley, where the phone signal and wifi can be a bit inconsistent. However, we are currently in the process of connecting the site to a high-speed fibre cable. We understand the importance of reliable connectivity and are working to improve it.
